I am helping my sister-in-law plan a Onederland themed party for her daughter's first birthday. This was my simple version of painting the roses red. I found these at the Dollar Tree and they even had hearts with them. I pulled off about half of the roses and stuck them on the end of a skewer. Spray a little red paint here and there. I even painted a couple of the hearts. I stuck them in a hole in a card board box to dry and then put them back on the stems. It was a pretty cheap way to get some red and white roses.
Tip: Wear a disposable glove when you do it or you will paint your hand red. (Don't ask me how I know this)

Valentines Decor
Valentines Day is just around the corner and I have added a few new items to my Valentine decorations. Two projects are ones bought and finished from Pebbles in my Pocket in Orem, Utah. I love that store. I added some white doilies and red ribbon the the heart banner.
The 3rd and 4th one came from the dollar store. I purchased a pair of valentine socks and cut the heel off to put them over my candles. I found these fun ribbon hearts and knew I wanted to make something with them. I cut some burlap into a bunting and hot glued the hearts on. Easy peasy. My favorite type of project.

Laser Cut Ornament
My hubby has an awesome laser cutter that does all sorts of creative things. This project came about when a tree fell in his mom's yard. The tree was planted by an LDS Singles Ward that Kevin's Dad was Bishop of when he passed away. His mom was very sad to lose the tree so we secretly snuck some branches out of the garbage and created some memory ornaments for everyone in the family
Kevin did some research and found out about drying wood in the microwave. We didn't have years to let it dry naturally. It seemed to work well and hopefully we won't have any problems with cracking as they continue to dry. We gave them out at Christmas and they were a big hit with the family. Especially his mom since she was hoping to save the tree but couldn't. We gave her a bigger version from the main trunk as well.
The front included a name and picture and the back told the story of the tree the ornament was made from.

Christmas Wreath
I found this awsome burlap reindeer ribbon at Michael's and added it to a green Christmas wreath. I liked the way it turned out. I added gold and red glitter to the reindeer to add a little sparkle.
3D Printed Christmas
We were in charge of giving to Kevin's sister and her hubby, Megan and Dave, this year for Christmas. Dave is a big Indiana Jones fan so we created this medallion headpiece from Raiders of the Lost Ark as part of his present. We got the file from Thingiverse. A little gold spay paint and a jewel sticker were added to make it more authentic.
I even created an envelop to put it in based on the Grail Diary package from The Last Crusade. I know, I know, I mixed movies. I am kind of jealous and want one of my own.
Megan loves anything Disney so I bought a pink Mickey Mouse watch and we printed a watch stand for it. Of course I forgot to take a picture of the watch stand. We got the file for it from Thingiverse as well.

Christmas/Winter Banner
I saw a cool banner on my latest visit to Tai Pan Trading and couldn't wait to make one at home.
I used scrapbook paper and some ribbon and it went together super fast. The silver garland is from the Christmas isle at Hobby Lobby. I punched holes in the to of the banner and threaded some twine through. Then laid my wide satin and the pom pom ribbon along the top adjusted my garland to drape where I wanted it and tied all layers together with more ribbon. I am loving it. I just wish it was a little longer to fit on my mantle better.Off to the store to buy more supplies I guess...
Shhh! Christmas Present Alert.
My sister in law is a big fan of Disneyland and all things related. She even owns and operates a party where you can have a princess of your choice come to your child's party.
I have her for Christmas this year and made this cute Minnie mouse bag based off of one I saw on Etsy. I sewed all of the fabric on but I bet you could get away with gluing it. I hope she likes it.
