Rice Bag Pillows

I found these great rice bag bags at Winco And bonus! Only .99 cents! They have handles and a zipper already and to make them into pillows I used a small home decor pillow I had on hand and zipped it up inside. No sewing or mess. My favorite kind of project. I printed a few vintage can labels to make a little vignette for Thanksgiving.

Vintage Cans

I won two tickets to the Summer Soiree held at the Conservation Garden Park in West Jordan from a fantastic blog called The Vocal Sokol. Stop by and check it out sometime. I took my mom with me as my guest. I loved the centerpieces on the tables. You can learn how to do your own at the Jordan Valley Home and Garden Club website.

Canvas Heart

For Valentines day we decided to make a heart from our canvas material. And of course add rolled ribbon flowers and crinkle ribbon to it. This is the first attempt. What do you think?

Vintage Brooch

I recently inherited some brooches that belong to my grandma and I wanted a way to display them. This is what I came up with.  I might put some brown card stock behind the burlap so the white doesn't show through as much.  The frame came from IKEA and I spray painted it the blue color.

Burlap Cans

As you can see my mom and I are currently getting carried away with the burlap and cans. These are the large versions. We used number ten cans for these. I have even dragged my mother-in-law into the madness.

"Vintage" Bottles

Although I actually do have a few vintage bottles there were mostly bought at Hobby Lobby. I made them over to have a vintage feel. I used my new crinkle ribbon to make the bows. There are a lot of great tutorials out there is you do a search. My mom and I have been on a crinkle ribbon kick lately.  I will post some tutorial pictures next time I make one.

My New Obession

Burlap and all things vintage has become my new obsession. It started with the pillows and has now spread to bottles and tin cans.

We Started With This...

And ended with this!

Burlap and Lace Pillows

These pillows are inspired by my favorite crafter at our local boutique. She does wonderful things with burlap and vintage lace. I wish she had a website to look at. She is also the source of my sister-in-laws hair piece for her wedding.
