Grandma's Quilt

My mom gave me a quilt that was made by my grandma Hodge. My grandma passed away over six years ago and my mom has been saving it ever since for my first baby. This quilt is special because Grandma was definitely not a huge fan of quilting or sewing or anything crafty. Towards the end of her life she had joined a quilt guild in Vernal and this is one of the few quilts that she made. Each square is a month of the year done in ribbon embroidery. Thanks Grandma! We miss you!

I don't have any recent photos but this my grandma and me when I was in high school.

Baby Coin Quilt

I finally gave this quilt to my friend so I can now post a picture of it. This pattern was from Moda Bake Shop. Super simple and easy, my favorite kind of quilt.

These four 9 patches were made using the Arcadia Charm Pack. I will be cutting them into 4ths for the next step.

Quilt Block of the Month 2008

My mom, mother-in-law and sister-in-law attend a block of the month club at Quilts Etc. in Utah. The theme for last year was civil war prints. This is my finished quilt top. I am currently working on a black and white block of the month quilt.

Binding Quilts

I saw this technique for pinning quilt bindings in quite a few places but I had never tried it out before. After my first time trying it... I give it two thumbs up. I thought this was a great way to "pin" my binding!

Coin Quilt Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek at a baby coin quilt that I made for a friend of mine who is having a baby in a month. I will post more pictures after I give it to her.

Walking Foot

I am now the proud owner of a Bernina walking foot. I as so excited to have this tool. I think it will be a great help for binding and machine quilting. I have already used it once and I thought it made binding much easier. What is your favorite foot to use?

Serenity Now

This is my version of a quilt by Fresh Poppy Designs. I bought this pattern at Material Girls (my favorite quilting store). The pattern was pretty easy. It looks nice and springy in my front room.
